Remember Local Search

if you want your business to do well in your local markets  you need to optimize for those markets.  There are several ways to do this . You want to include your location and other cities you serve throughout your web site. You need to optimize for these locations and cities as well. You also need to include your phone and address in various pages. I optimize for those on the contact page typically. You want people to find you and/or your business when they enter your phone number in the search engines. You may have called and they don't know the number, so they Google it. I do it all the time!

Goals

There are three really important goals to keep in mind when optimizing for local search:

  1. Show up for your services/products in your local market(s)
  2. Get your business name out there! I tell clients that I don't really care why people find your site, as long as they do. They might not use your services now, but they may next week. They also may recommend your services/products to someone they know.
  3. Increase your web presence as much as possible

Increasing your visibility on the web is a lot more affordable than paying for commercials or ads. More and more people are using the web and they are "click happy". They just keep clicking and we want them to come across your site.

You Must Add Your Business to the Six Following Places!
When you add your business info you want to try and include keywords in to the business name area. For example, Panaca Writing - SEO Sarasota or Byrd Law- DUI Attorney Sarasota. If you rent boats you want to show up first when people search for boat rentals, Right? If you name is Blue Sky Boats you may want to use the following as a business name- Sarasota Boat Rentals- Blue Sky.
